What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing, Must have valid nursing license (RN) in the state of Virginia, Must have and maintain current AHA BLS-HCP certification, Effective interpersonal, communication, and teamworking skills required, Must successfully complete orientation and competency validation for position, Successful completion of cardiac monitoring course required
Nice to Have
Critical care experience preferred, Must successfully complete AHAACLS within six months of hire date and maintain current status
What You'll Do.
Assist physician with direct patient care
Prepare patient and equipment for procedures
Scrub and assist physician during procedures
Advise on procedural strategies and supplies
Assist in emergent conditions
and team needs are met
Operate digital x-ray equipment
Administer medications under physician guidance
Manage emergency situations
Monitor and interpret EKG and hemodynamics
Input data from patient history and labs
Perform basic data manipulation
Provide specific patient care functions
Provide informed consent and patient education
Contribute to performance improvement activities
Provide Procedural Sedation
Interact with unit staff

As a 24/7 STEMI program the Cath Lab offers state of the art procedures such as TAVRs, Mitral Clips, Watchman/Amulet, PFO Closures, and is a high-volume PCI center. There are 6 Cath procedure rooms, located in the newly built Crystal Springs Tower. The Crystal Springs Tower is a 400,000-square-foot expansion to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital – the home of our Cardiovascular Institute and an expanded Emergency Department. What we do: Some of the complex therapies/treatments performed include: · Cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring (SWAN pulmonary artery pressure monitoring, continuous trans venous pacing (TVP) · Equipment includes: Intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), IMPELLA ventricular assist device, Shockwave IVL, Rotablator and CSI Atherectomy, Coroflow MVD studies. · Procedures: Diagnostic, Interventional and Complex/High Risk PCI, Structural (TAVR, PFO/ASD, Paravalvular Leak, LAA Closure, Evoque Triscuspid VR, Mitral and Tricuspid Valve TEER), Cardiomems, LVAD/ Advanced Heart Failure, Diagnostic and Interventional Peripheral Procedures · Structural Research Clinical Trials: BASELINE Trial, ENCIRCLE trial, Cerclag
