What They're Looking For.

Must Have

New York State and/or Connecticut License and ARRT Certification with BD and CT modalities, Maintaining superior diagnostic imaging in accordance with standardized procedures, Excellent patient and people skills, Ability to maintain a great knowledge in human anatomy and cross section anatomy, and pathology, Able to communicate urgent findings with Radiologist, Proper positioning skills, and appropriate utilization of protocols and scanning techniques, High knowledge with variety of routine procedures and applications, Ability to maintain continuing education credits and professional licenses required by the New York State Department of Health, Bureau of Environmental Protection and The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists

What You'll Do.

Perform radiographic and CAT scan examinations

Prepare and assist patients for CAT scan procedures

Review patient orders to ensure proper exam request

Educate patients about procedures

including contrast material administration and its effects

Set up CAT scan equipment and apparatus

Obtain optimum quality CAT scan images

Instruct patients with proper pre and post scan instructions

Obtain essential information from patients

Prepare intravenous contrast media

Operate Radiographic or Bone Density equipment

Observe and follow safety procedures

Verify proper patient identification and route studies to PACS

Process studies onto CD for patient study requests

Ensure ALARA and Image Gently are being followed

Maintain a daily log of patients seen

Maintain cleanliness of equipment and working area

Maintain familiarity of emergency drugs and equipment location

Practice sterile technique and prevent cross contamination

Maintain knowledge in human anatomy and cross section anatomy

proper positioning skills

and appropriate utilization of protocols and scanning techniques

Maintain familiarity with booking

Maintain professional and technical knowledge through training and continuing education

Demonstrate commitment to total quality management and service excellence

Provide excellent and responsible service to patients
