POSITION SUMMARY: The Cancer Support Program Coordinator is responsible for developing educational and psychosocial programs that support wellness and comprehensive care for individuals dealing with cancer, in collaboration with cancer center staff. The Coordinator serves as the conduit for programs offered at the cancer center and works in partnership with local cancer agencies such as the American Cancer Society. The role includes direct patient outreach, coordination and scheduling of services, entering and managing referrals, and documenting interactions within the electronic health record (EHR), as well as connecting patients and families to a wide range of supportive resources to enhance care throughout the cancer journey. They support patient care through direct patient contact, educating staff about available programs and resources, community networking with other service providers, and by acting as the liaison for facilitators and instructors of cancer support groups and classes. The Coordinator also contributes to social media content creation and program promotion efforts to increase awareness and engagement.
