Temporary position not to exceed 26 weeks, Proof of U. S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency may be a requirement, Must be able to complete a U. S. government background investigation, Generally, an office environment, Can involve inside or outside work, Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods, May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs, Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.), Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical, Ability to work outside normal schedule, Adjust schedule to meet peak periods, Professional behavior that enhances productivity, Promotes teamwork and cooperation, Grooming and dress must be appropriate, Must not impose a safety risk/hazard
What They're Looking For.
Must Have
HS Diploma or its equivalent, AAS degree, plus an additional 5 - 10 years of relevant experience, Ability to produce drawings conforming to ASME Y14. 5, Experience of mechanical designs, technical products and systems, CAD design experience using SolidWorks, Excellent oral and written communication skills, Proficient with MS office Products (MS Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
Nice to Have
Experience with Space Suit components and designs, Minimum 2 years' experience using SolidWorks CAD software, Experience using CAD Data Management Systems, Familiarization with JSC Fabrication Tolerances and Practices
What You'll Do.
Support NASA Johnson Space Center spacesuit design
Support drafting activities using SolidWorks
Develop compliant design and drawing solutions
Produce engineering drawings
Prepare documentation
Participate in project meetings
Generate required reports
Create and maintain CAD files
Maintain design documentation
Perform additional duties
