Top Secret security clearance required, US Citizenship Required, Ability to work with power tools and ladders, Telecommuting is not permitted and will require the employee to report full-time onsite, Travel Required: 10-25%
What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Associate's Degree and a minimum of 3 years’ experience required, Active Top Secret security clearance required, Familiar with BICSI rules, regulations, and standards, Ability to communicate effectively to personnel of various expertise levels, Possess robust customer support skills in a high visibility environment, Maintain a high attention to detail and accuracy, Ability to work with power tools and ladders, Ability to work well with others and communicate with supervisors, Computer literate with basic Networking Skills, Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned
Nice to Have
An additional 2 years of related technical experience may be substituted in lieu of degree
What You'll Do.
Installation and documentation of new and/or updated Inside Plant cable infrastructure
Cable tray installation
Copper cabling installation
Coax cabling installation
Fiber optic cabling installation
Tasks assigned by team lead in connection with move
change activities related to copper cabling infrastructure
Tasks assigned by team lead in connection with move
change activities related to Voice over IP networks (VOIP)
Tasks assigned by team lead in connection with move
change activities related to fiber optic cabling infrastructure
maintains and repairs voice and data communications systems
Interprets cabling cutsheets
and electrical schematics
and repairs cabling infrastructure associated with trouble calls
Performs routine maintenance on cabling infrastructure
Verifies work order information and receipt of all necessary equipment and information
Verifies service by testing installed cabling
or escalating problems
Documents network by labeling and routing equipment and recording configuration diagrams and specifications
Maintains network by troubleshooting and repairing testing network back-up updating documentation
track and remove abandoned cable
Keep cable neatly tied and bundled while maintaining safety standards
terminate and test cables and components including CAT6 and fiber optic cabling
Follows DISA J6 and commercial best practice procedures
standards required for installation of cable racks
wiring of the racks and testing required during installation
Participates in special projects as required
