Must Have
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences), 3+ years’ experience with aircraft mechanical systems design, production, fleet support, or sustaining engineering, 3+ years’ experience working with internal and external customers, 3+ years’ experience demonstrating leadership skills (informal or formal)
Nice to Have
5+ years of higher education and/or related work experience, C-17 or other military aircraft experience, Skilled in presenting complex issues and solutions to the Air Force customer in both verbal and written forms, Demonstrated leadership qualities and ability to follow through, Skilled in Unigraphics NX modeling and Teamcenter drawing release system, Skilled in drafting Time Compliance Technical Orders for aircraft in service changes and inspections, Demonstrated engineering experience level to obtain Design Engineering Authority to approve waivers, non-conformance corrective actions and rework, Demonstrated engineering experience level to obtain Design Approval Engineer authority to approve designs, Technical Lead Engineer or ability to obtain certification for that role, Versed in Boeing procurement system

C-17 Mechanical System Design & Analysis Engineer (Mid-Level & Senior) **Company:** The Boeing Company Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including **Mid-Level and Senior** **Mechanical System Design & Analysis Engineers **to part of the C-17 Sustainment Program located in **Long Beach, CA.** This position is to support the C-17 military cargo aircraft operating around the world. Focus for this position will be developing and maintaining aircraft mechanical systems such as hydraulics, flight control actuators, landing gear, environmental control, fuel and cargo handling. The successful candidate has an ability to perform systems integration; create assembly and installation drawings, perform basic related analyses and resolve technical problems. This position requires someone that is self-motivated, has leadership skills/lead potential and has good communication skills (verbal and written). This position requires someone that is customer focused with the ability to focus on building strong customer relationships. **Position Responsibilities:** * Develops and maintains mechanical systems drawings and specifications * Supports analysis and design reviews * Follows documented processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of mechanical system commodities * Performs technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection * Supports the sustainment, development, and documentation of aircraft systems, primarily mechanical system design (will include interacting directly with USAF customer, Field Engineers, and C-17 aircraft) * Performs root cause analysis for field issues, provides corrective actions, and communicates with USAF customers (including presentations) * Guide/mentor engineers in design decisions and design/solution presentations * Occasional travel to supply chain locations and military bases * Demonstrated ability to lead small teams in establishing goals and managing projec
