Must Have
Two-year degree in an appropriate field of study (e.g., Purchasing/Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business Administration, etc.), 5+ years of related experience in purchasing for industrial or manufacturing environment, Proven experience at an intermediate level with Microsoft Excel, Aptitude and communications skills related to developing and maintaining effective working relationships, Excellent verbal and written communication, Able to form and maintain professional working relationships with both inside and outside vendors, Ability to travel as needed – 10%, Working in an office environment with a manufacturing setting that requires Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Nice to Have
Meets requirements for entry into SCMP, APICS, and/or ISM accreditation, and enrollment in the program, Experience with SAGE 300 purchasing and/or other inventory control systems, Financial acumen and previous experience with sourcing and purchasing electrical and mechanical components
What You'll Do.
Tactical procurement of commodities
Coordinate efforts to maintain appropriate level of inventory
Purchase goods and services at the most favourable price
Build and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers
Provide supply chain management support
analyses and transactions
Analyze internal client requirements
Review purchase requisitions for goods
Prepare routine bids and proposals
Create supporting spreadsheets
Conduct product and price comparisons
Assist in bid openings
Assist with investigations
Interact with vendors and departments regarding procurement procedures
Expedite shipping and deliveries
Handle price changes and vendor back orders
Maintain and update vendor files and price lists
Support and assist with statistical and historical data
and process receiving reports
Process vendor invoices and other payment documents
Assist with continuous improvement of supply chain management systems and processes
