What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Minimum 5+ years of experience in accounting or tax compliance roles, Working knowledge and familiarity with Australian tax, including business, trust, and individual tax returns, Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel and Word, Advanced experience using Xero accounting software, Experience with Xero Practice Manager, particularly for WIP (Work in Progress) tracking and timesheets, Hands-on experience in FBT, particularly motor vehicle and entertainment benefits, Working knowledge of Div 7A, including ability to identify applicability and prepare supporting workpapers, Experience in providing comprehensive tax planning services, Client communication skills with the ability to work independently, High attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work
Nice to Have
Experience reviewing and mentoring junior staff, Experience with small business advisory services is highly desirable
What You'll Do.
Manage preparation and lodgment of business
and complex individual tax returns
Provide proactive tax planning and advisory services
with a focus on small business clients
Review work prepared by junior accountants to ensure accuracy and compliance
Liaise directly with clients and handle queries with minimal supervision
Contribute to small business advisory services as a core component of the role
Ensure all work papers and supporting documentation are complete

Liaise directly with clients; Work directly with the Director and Associate; Review work prepared by junior accountants; Potential to grow into a leadership role overseeing a team of junior accountants and bookkeepers
