**Job Description** **The UW Facilities Business Innovation & Technology team has an outstanding opportunity for a Business Intelligence Developer to join their team.** **About this Opportunity** Reporting to the Manager of Departmental Computing, the Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for transforming operational data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders across UW Facilities. This position develops and maintains a wide range of reports, dashboards, and their supporting data models across both Tableau and Power BI. A successful BI Developer operates as an internal technical consultant, working directly with business partners to understand reporting needs, translate requirements into technical solutions, and deliver high-quality reporting products. The ideal candidate combines strong SQL skills, experience with modern reporting tools, and the ability to design flexible, multifunctional data models. This role also contributes to the team's evolving data architecture and participates in shaping reporting standards, documentation practices, and automation opportunities. This position is located in the UW Tower and requires a hybrid work schedule that includes 1-2 days working in the office Monday-Friday during regular day shift hours. Regular and predictable attendance is required. **Key Responsibilities** **Standardized Reporting and Analytics (50%)** * Design, develop, and optimize complex SQL queries (including CTEs and subqueries) to support reporting and analysis. * Analyze business and operational data to identify trends, performance issues, and actionable insights. * Build and maintain reports and dashboards across tools (Tableau, Power BI, SSRS, Excel), selecting the appropriate platform for each use case. * Ensure reliability of reporting outputs by managing documentation/catalogs, validating data quality, and troubleshooting or enhancing existing reports. **Data Maintenance and Modeling (30%)** * Develop a deep understanding of existing
