What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, Minimum of 4 years of experience in business architecture, enterprise architecture, or a closely related discipline, Demonstrated experience developing enterprise or business architecture deliverables in a complex, multi-stakeholder organization, Proficiency with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, or Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework (FEAF), Experience developing business architecture artifacts including capability models, process models, and organizational maps, Familiarity with modeling notations such as BPMN, ArchiMate, or UML, Analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information and identify patterns, gaps, and opportunities, Proficiency with architecture modeling tools (e.g., Sparx EA, BiZZdesign, or similar), Understanding of healthcare IT environments, including electronic health record (EHR) systems, clinical workflows, and health information exchange, Excellent written and verbal communication ability to produce executive-level presentations and technical documentation
Nice to Have
Experience working with the Veterans Health Administration or a similar federal health agency, Active security clearance or ability to obtain one, TOGAF 9 or 10 Certification, Certified Business Architect (CBA) or equivalent professional certification, Familiarity with VA enterprise architecture standards, VA Technical Reference Model (TRM), and VHA informatics initiatives, Experience with Agile or SAFe delivery methodologies in a government contracting environment, Familiarity with HL7 FHIR, interoperability standards, or health information exchange frameworks

Position Overview: The Business Architect structures the healthcare enterprise in terms of its governance, business processes, and business information. This role aligns strategic goals and objectives with decisions regarding healthcare products and services, partners and suppliers, providers, organizational capabilities, and key business and IT initiatives. Operating within a government contracting (GovCon) environment, the Business Architect develops and maintains a comprehensive architectural framework that bridges organizational strategy and operational execution across complex healthcare IT landscapes.
