Must Have
Previous experience in business analysis within a data team, Data modelling and mapping knowledge, Theoretical/working knowledge of ETL methods, data backbones and semantic models, Meticulous planning and organisation skills, Experience in engaging with a diverse range of people at different levels of an organisation
Nice to Have
preferably in health, understanding of or a willingness to develop their capability in Te Tiriti o Waitangi, tikanga Māori, and/or te reo Māori

Full Job Description
**Te tūnga | The role** We are looking for a Business Analyst to join our Health Intelligence and Surveillance Group. This is a fixed term 3-month opportunity. The team focuses on real-time data curation, integration and visualization and most importantly translation of data into new visuals, tools & insights, relevant to public health surveillance. The team curate data from various sources such as Snowflake, HL7 messages, APIs and various health data collection systems, government, and non-government data collection repositories. The Business Analyst will primarily be supporting PHF Science in transitioning to a new notifiable disease information ecosystem (NDIE Programme) and will play a critical role in ensuring PHF Science requirements are being clearly documented, communicated and tracked. The business analyst will also have a flexible skill set, allowing for ad-hoc technical advisory where required. The position will be available to start early July. Preference is for the role to be based in either Auckland, Wellington, or Christchurch. However remote working may be considered.
