What You'll Achieve.

Help clients meet ambitious sustainability and decarbonization goals by applying technology to evaluate and improve building performance. Ensure integration of energy performance measures and compliance with relevant codes and standards. Support setting performance targets such as EUI and carbon intensity.

Eligibility Requirements

This role is not a fit for candidates whose primary experience is in renewable energy development, energy auditing, or corporate ESG reporting.

What They're Looking For.

Must Have

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Building Science with a focus on building systems, coupled with 3-6 years of experience in sustainability consulting, building performance, or energy modeling. Must be proficient in energy modeling software, familiar with LEED, possess working knowledge of building systems, and be able to interpret architectural and MEP drawings.

Nice to Have

Preferred qualifications include professional credentials such as PE, CEM, or ASHRAE BEMP, experience with parametric modeling tools like Rhino/Grasshopper and environmental plugins, and prior sector experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotech, laboratory, or food & beverage projects.

The Building Performance and Energy Consultant will develop and run building energy models using tools like IES VE or EnergyPlus to evaluate energy, carbon, and thermal performance, translating results into actionable design recommendations.

This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to integrate simulation insights, review design documents for compliance with codes and standards, and contribute to LEED documentation and sustainability workshops.

The consultant will also support long-term sustainability planning and decarbonization roadmaps for clients, focusing on building performance and energy analytics.

How You'll Work.

Team & Collaboration

Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams, architects, and engineers to integrate simulation-based insights and implement energy efficiency strategies. Interface with clients and multidisciplinary teams during workshops, design charrettes, and client meetings.
