What They're Looking For.
Must Have
2+ years experience working under a licensed professional engineer, Excellent written and verbal communication, Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, Passionate about providing exceptional client service, Self-motivated, Eager to develop and grow as a structural engineer
Nice to Have
A master's degree with an emphasis on structural engineering (MSCE/MSE), Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, or scheduled date for the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam., Coursework and/or familiarity with structural analysis software such as SAP, CSI Bridge, or PG Super.
What You'll Do.
Assist in the design and analysis of bridges and heavy civil structures
including both new construction and rehabilitation.
Conduct structural analysis and prepare design sketches under the supervision of professional engineers.
Perform inspection and fieldwork
supporting data collection and documentation.
Engage in technical and project discussions within the design team
contributing to collaborative problem-solving.
Apply core engineering principles and advanced mathematical techniques to tackle real-world challenges.
Join client meetings and site visits to gain exposure to project development and stakeholder engagement.
Gradually take part in project management tasks
such as monitoring budgets and schedules
interacting with clients
and leading junior engineers.
Build expertise in navigating federal
and local regulations
while aligning with KPFF’s and our clients’ standards and practices.
