Associate's degree (or equivalent from two-year college) or certificate program in diagnostic medical sonography must be obtained prior to hire, American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) (OB or AB or BR), Accreditation must be attained prior to hire except for BR (one year to obtain accreditation)

Nice to Have

Experience in related clinical area is preferred

What You'll Do.

Generate diagnostic sonographic images for the radiologists

Implement policy and procedures

Perform a wide variety of exams

Assist physicians during sterile invasive procedures

Full Job Description

**POSITION SUMMARY:** Under the general supervision of the Ultrasound Manager and Lead Ultrasound Technologist, the Ultrasound Technologist provides skill and initiative to the department’s mission through interactions with staff, manager and others as necessary. The ultrasound technologist’s primary duties are to generate diagnostic sonographic images for the radiologists, while also implementing policy and procedures as determined necessary through the manager and lead technologist. **Position:** Breast Sonographer **Department:** Breast Imaging **Schedule:** 40 Hours (Days) **ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:** * Performs a wide variety of exams as required and necessary for proper departmental workflow. Assists physicians during sterile invasive procedures, i.e. biopsies, aspirations, thoracenteses, intraoperative etc. Satisfies operational requirements to include covering the department as determined necessary through either the Manager or Lead technologist. * Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography examinations in accordance with infection control, sterilization, and patient safety protocols, policies, and procedures. * Completes exams in a timely fashion while providing quality scans for Radiology and outside departments. * Prepares patient for exams as required and insures patient comfort and modesty at all times. * Assumes responsibility for the safety of the patient during the sonographic exam. * Follows all departmental established and appropriate policies and procedures as required. * Sets up equipment as necessary and uses proper patient positioning and technique to ensure patient comfort and safety, * and to prevent compromised data acquisition and musculoskeletal injury to the sonographer.. * Performs duties as required in all areas of the department to include all campuses and either within Ultrasound or outside when appropriate for the hospital mission as determined by either the Manager or Lead technologist. * Work sched
