Pride Bodies Ltd., a Wabtec Company in Cambridge, Ontario, offers custom design and truck-body manufacturing and upfitting of utility, service, construction, railway and other custom truck bodies. Our environmentally-friendly truck bodies are researched, designed and customized to our customers’ satisfaction. Who will you be working with? As a member of the team at Pride Bodies Ltd., you will be working daily in the Brake and Shear Department with 2 other employees and the department supervisor. How will you make a difference? * Uphold priorities of Safety, Quality, Continuous Improvement and Teamwork; * Perform work that is accurate and finished to the satisfaction of our end customers. What do we want to know about you? * High School/GED diploma required; * Able to maintain regular and reliable attendance; * Able to work safely at all times, checking for hazards before starting any task; * Able to perform work in a timely manner, within tolerances with minimal scrap; * Capable of calculating cut sizes from existing parts made; * Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude; * Knowledge of running a brake, shear and cut-off saw; * Able to read a tape measure correctly; * Able to read and understand engineering drawings; * Able to work independently and as part of a team. What will your typical day look like? * Understand instructions and carry them out efficiently within the given deadline; * Apply safe automotive/manufacturing work practices; * Read and understand shop drawings to enable independent work; * Take all work orders from start to finish with little supervision; * Make all styles of doors, shelving packages and all standard body panel forming * Document materials usage and scrap correctly; * Stack parts for easy access for the next operation and label both parts and skids/containers correctly; * Help operations in the fabricating area; You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade for which adequate training w
