Full Job Description
About DreamBook DreamBook is an AI powered writing platform. We're building the editorial and creative layer that turns a person's experiences into a manuscript worth publishing. We launch publicly later this year, and we're building the small team that will shape the quality of every book that comes out of the platform. The Role You'll be the human editorial layer that sits on top of our AI-assisted editing. You'll do the final quality pass on manuscripts before they leave the platform, work directly with users to tighten their books, and help define what editorial excellence looks like at DreamBook. Senior Editor: You'll set the editorial standard for the team, handle the most complex manuscripts, and shape how the editorial workflow scales as we grow to 1,000+ books. Prior experience leading or managing a team of editors is strongly preferred. Editors (3–4 years): You'll own day-to-day manuscript editing — final quality checks, comments and notes, and direct user communication on individual books. What You'll Do - Provide the final quality check on every AI-generated book before it leaves the platform. - Add editorial comments and notes throughout the manuscript — copyediting, line editing, and structural feedback. - Engage in light back-and-forth with the author to resolve queries, clarify intent, and tighten the manuscript. - Serve as the human-editorial escalation layer on top of our first-round AI-assisted edits — you'll handle the manuscripts that need a real editor's eye. - Senior Editor only: Help define editorial standards, train the team, and shape how editorial scales with platform volume. Who We're Looking For All editors: - Experience in a reputable trade or academic publishing house. - Solid background in copyediting, line editing, and structural feedback. - Strong communicator — able to handle author back-and-forth professionally and tactfully.
