What You'll Do.

Full Job Description

Under limited supervision, operates, maintains, and repairs major power plant and/or auxiliary equipment such as boilers, chillers, programmable controls, pumps, condensers, generators, air compressors and refrigeration equipment for all Hospital buildings. Programs and monitors equipment controls and makes necessary adjustments. Monitors all building utilities as well as providing ongoing sampling of boilers and maintaining appropriate steam pressure to operate the building. This position reports to the Facilities Supervisor. Under moderate direction responsible for the safe, efficient operation of high and low pressure boilers and related auxiliaries, various mechanical equipment including air handlers, pumps, compressors and comfort control equipment. ## Essential Functions * Maintains constant surveillance of power plant equipment in operation by observing programmable controls and energy management system. Takes water samples, tests and takes immediate action. * Operates the computerized energy management computer (BAS). Maintains emergency generators for the Hospital.
