About the role The Blasting / Coating Technician is responsible for the safe preparation, cleaning, and coating of metal surfaces and components supporting power generation equipment and infrastructure. This role performs abrasive blasting, surface preparation, industrial coating application, and quality inspections to ensure components meet project specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements. The ideal candidate possesses a strong safety mindset, attention to detail, and experience working in industrial maintenance, fabrication, or power generation environments. This is a full-time, onsite position located at Duke Energy’s Lark Maintenance facility in Mt. Holly, NC, supporting plant operations through TNC Energy Services. The ideal candidate will live/commute to the location daily as relocation is not offered for this position, at this time. Responsibilities Perform abrasive blasting operations to remove corrosion, coatings, scale, and contaminants from metal surfaces Prepare surfaces for coating applications in accordance with project specifications and industry standards Apply industrial coatings, epoxies, urethanes, primers, and specialty protective coatings using spray, brush, and roller methods Inspect surface preparation and coating applications for compliance with quality requirements Measure and document coating thickness using dry film thickness gauges and other inspection equipment Mix, handle, and store blasting media, paints, coatings, and related materials in accordan
