What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Experience coding in one of the programming languages (e. g. , C++, Java, Python, Go, Spring Framework), Understanding of DevOps principles and practices, Interest in building and operating large-scale, distributed systems, Systematic problem-solving approach, analytical skills, and communication abilities, Willingness to learn and take on challenging opportunities, Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure system behavior is understood and monitoring exists to detect anomalies
Nice to Have
One to two years of experience in a related role, with SRE experience preferred, Automation provider certifications, Experience with algorithms, data structures, scripting, pipeline management, and software design
What You'll Do.
Demonstrate and innovate SRE practices
Partner with product and platform teams to define and track service level objectives (SLOs) and indicators (SLIs)
Monitor and manage system reliability performance
Communicate reliability concerns and their potential impact
Promote the prioritization of reliability throughout the software development life cycle
and deliver solutions to automate manual operations
Participate in on-call rotations
Provide support for SRE systems
Lead or participate in post-mortem incident analysis
Engage in system design
and architecture discussions
Share lessons learned and best practices regarding reliability and performance
Assist in training and mentoring fellow junior SREs
Pursue continuous improvement opportunities
Support governance and ensure compliance with policies
Respond promptly to requests for assistance from technical customers
Provide engineering support and best-practice guidance
Adhere to and suggest improvements to standard operating procedures
Advocate for automation and workflow optimization
Support application health
Assist in system design consulting
Collaborate with development and product teams to establish monitoring and alerting strategies
Engage in development
and business process improvement
Support CI/CD pipelines and promote software into higher environments
Increase automation and tooling to reduce manual intervention
Analyze ITSM activities and provide feedback to development teams on operational gaps or resiliency concerns
Perform root cause analysis of incidents and work with development teams to resolve issues
