Must Have
Master's Degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a closely-related field, Some clinical trials or statistical consulting experience, Experience with statistical software (such as SAS, Stata, etc. )
Nice to Have
Two-year Master's Degree (MA/MS) program, Professional experience and/or education in statistical analysis of clinical or biological data, including failure time and categorical data, Experience working within a collaborative research team, Experience that required specialized, highly technical knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and principles including categorical data and censored failure time data analysis, Advanced computer skills and experience with major statistical computing packages, Familiarity with medical terminology, Experience with SAS, or background in other relevant packages (e.g., STATA, S-PLUS or R), Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
What You'll Do.
Act as a protocol statistician under the direction of senior statisticians
Collaborate with medical researchers in the design
and publication of clinical trials and observational studies of HIV and other infectious disease
periodic and final analyses of data
using specialized statistical techniques and statistical programming
Determine proper summary statistics
report formats and all other analysis considerations
Review proposed study methodology
study parameters and all other related study factors of concept sheets and protocols to ensure conformance with accepted statistical principles
Recommend revisions and modifications
Determine and write statistical considerations for protocol documents and statistical analysis plans
according to study design and appropriate statistical methods
Develop stratification and randomization materials
in compliance with study design
Provide statistical input and advice to Network subcommittees
Collaborate with faculty on methodological research related to infectious diseases
Oversee development of data collection forms and proposed data management methods to ensure that the data to be collected will meet study objectives and allow valid analyses
Ensure integrity of data collection
data compilation and analysis technique by monitoring protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with proper statistical techniques
Identify potential or actual administrative or scientific suggest and implement corrective action
Prepare periodic and ad hoc data status reports
Collaborate with clinicians and senior CBAR statisticians on manuscripts
abstracts and other publications documenting study findings
