Must Have
High school diploma or GED, Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) certificate, Associate degree (or two year technical degree) in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or a related field, Equivalent Department of Defense Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) military training, Formal military training in advanced electronics maintenance and repair (with practical experience in diagnosing and servicing complex electronic systems), 0–2 years of experience in biomedical equipment service or related electronics/electromechanical field, Within 18 months obtain minimum of one healthcare system designated certification: Anesthesia, Telemetry, Nurse Call, Ventilator, OR Tables, OR Integration, OR Booms, CRRT, Telemetry Monitors, Imaging, ESU, Q-Stress Treadmill, Heart Lung Machine, Balloon Pumps, Dialysis, or related equipment certification
Nice to Have
Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, or related field, Eligibility for or pursuit of Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) certification, Healthcare experience
