About Nethermind Nethermind is a blockchain research and software engineering company building high-performance infrastructure, security tooling, and cryptographic systems across the Ethereum ecosystem and beyond. We work closely with protocol teams, L2s, and ZK projects to help design, review, and secure cutting-edge decentralized systems. We are expanding our Team and are looking for a Backend / Telemetry Engineer to build the cloud systems that support connected physical devices and real-world deployments. This is a backend role for someone who wants to work on machine data, events, fleet infrastructure, dashboards, APIs, and operational systems. Responsibilities: - Build backend services for telemetry, device state, events, dashboards, and partner integrations. - Design data models for machines, locations, users, events, status, diagnostics, and operational activity. - Build APIs for edge devices, internal tools, dashboards, and AI workflows. - Implement event ingestion pipelines, monitoring, alerting, and audit logs. - Work with embedded engineers on device-to-cloud protocols. - Work with product and business teams to define the data needed for demos, pilots, and customer reporting. - Support security, reliability, observability, and scalability from the beginning. Requirements: - Strong backend engineering experience. - Experience building production systems, APIs, databases, event pipelines, or telemetry platforms. - Strong programming ability in TypeScript, Python, Go, Java, Kotlin, Rust, or similar. - Experience with relational databases, time-series data, queues, event streaming, or cloud infrastructure. - Understanding of authentication, authorization, logging, monitoring, and secure system design. - English fluency required.
