Eligibility Requirements

Must possess or have the ability to obtain by the time of hire, a valid Arizona driver’s license., Pass a background review., Work occurs indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions., Tasks require manual dexterity of hands and body to operate equipment and machinery as well as managing frequent interruptions, time pressures, and high work volumes., Travel to and from job related locations occur during the course of a scheduled workday., Responsibilities require concentration, accuracy, and ethical conduct., Sitting, standing and walking., Driving a vehicle., Speaking, hearing, seeing, and reading., Climbing up and down ladders and maintenance stands., Crawling and working on the ground while on your back., Reaching and twisting., Distinguishing colors., Bending/Kneeling., Lifting floor to waist one hundred (100) pounds., Lifting waist to shoulder of seventy-five (75) pounds., Lifting shoulder to overhead of fifty (50) pounds., Carrying a weight of fifty (50) pounds for a distance of up to 100 feet., Pushing/pulling a weight of two hundred (200) pounds for a distance of up to 2,000 feet., Use of precise dexterity., Equally indoors and outdoors., In temperatures frequently above 90 degrees and rarely below 40 degrees during outdoor activities., In conditions involving aircraft fumes, chemicals, smoke and dust and occasionally wet/damp area., In conditions involving unprotected heights, use of stairs/ladders, high noise levels, both dim and bright lighting., In hazardous environment., Handling frequent interruptions., Handling multiple or complicated tasks, and frequently changing and unscheduled tasks., Managing high volumes of work., Working under deadlines or time pressures to complete tasks., Accuracy and concentration/vigilance., Decision making., Working in a team environment, in close proximity with others, and/or in isolation., Overtime/rotating shifts., Participates in on-call calendar to report to work outside regular work hours for unscheduled aircraft maintenance., Be present at work site to perform tasks as scheduled and assigned by the Supervisor., Pass a pre-employment background and/or fingerprint investigation as required by statute or policy, including drug and alcohol testing requirements for positions designated as safety-sensitive.

What They're Looking For.

Must Have

Possession of a current Mechanic’s license with airframe and power plant ratings issued by the FAA., Three (3) years of experience of repair and maintenance of rotorcraft/helicopter aircraft., Knowledge and experience working with both piston and turbine powered aircraft., Must possess a current mechanic’s license with airframe and power plant ratings as issued by the FAA., Must possess or have the ability to obtain by the time of hire, a valid Arizona driver’s license., FEMA NIMS – IS100 and 700; OSHA ADP payroll PREA training, Pass a background review.

Nice to Have

Bell Helicopter Factory School Training and/or experience maintaining Bell 407, Bell 429 or other Bell Helicopters., Current FAA Inspection Authorization and/or Arizona CDL with Hazmat certification.

What You'll Do.

Provides routine maintenance and repair on all office owned and operated fixed wing and rotorcraft aircraft

Ensuring safety for both the general public and the Sheriff’s Office pilot core

Meeting the Federal Aviation Administration standards and regulations

Performs routine maintenance and repairs on fixed wing and rotorcraft owned by MCSO.

Conducts periodic inspections and returns office aircraft to operational service.

Operates precision measuring devices and special tools.

and maintains stock of spare parts and supplies for aircraft.

Maintains aircraft maintenance records.

Documents aircraft parts and component records.

Provides and sustains organization of hangar and office area.

Performs routine fuel samples on office fuel trailers and trucks.

Maintains valid mechanic’s license with airframe and power plant ratings required by FAA.

Performs necessary steps to obtain inspection authorization for the FAA within the first three years of employment.

Participates in on-call calendar to report to work outside regular work hours for unscheduled aircraft maintenance.
