Some experience with low voltage system wiring and basic AV components such as speakers, amplifiers, projectors, TVs, etc is an preferred asset, Knowledge of how to read and follow construction diagrams and work orders
What You'll Do.
supports the Audio-Visual team in maintaining and improving AV systems across SAIT
assists with the setup
and documentation of AV equipment and systems
and assist AV Specialists with service requests
and daily operational tasks
Assist with basic testing and troubleshooting of AV systems and equipment
escalating complex issues when required
Support the maintenance of existing AV systems by checking equipment status
verifying connections
and assisting with updates under supervision
Help ensure compatibility between AV systems and related devices such as desktop computers
Use the ServiceNow ticketing system to document
and support the resolution of client requests in accordance with established processes and service standards
Assist with inventory control
and the movement of equipment between campus locations
Support administrative and documentation tasks such as checking classrooms
inspecting ports and hardware
and taking photos of spaces for internal records and databases
Support hardware installation and room readiness activities while following departmental standards and procedures
Conduct routine inspections to identify equipment damage
and cable management concerns that may affect functionality

Position End Date: March 31, 2027 Job Posting End Date: Until position is filled Reporting to the Audio-Visual Supervisor, the Audio-Visual Student Worker supports the Audio-Visual team in maintaining and improving AV systems across SAIT. This role focuses primarily on classrooms and other learning spaces, with support provided in other campus areas as needed. Working under the guidance of the Audio-Visual support team, the student worker assists with the setup, installation, troubleshooting, basic repairs, upgrades, and documentation of AV equipment and systems.
