What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Acoustics, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, Over 3 years of experience with acoustic measurement systems such as HATS, Audio Precision, and Listen SoundCheck, including work with anechoic chambers, Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python for acoustic data processing and analysis, Experience in tuning render system algorithms for consumer electronics, with a focus on critical listening and subjective evaluation, Solid understanding of electroacoustic principles, including speaker Thiele-Small parameters and frequency response interpretation, Knowledge of DSP fundamentals, such as biquad filters and frequency domain analysis, lab discipline, including adherence to SOPs and thorough documentation practices, Excellent communication skills with experience in reporting technical findings to engineering stakeholders
Nice to Have
Familiarity with AI tools and agentic workflows to enhance tuning processes, Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Acoustics, or a related discipline, Previous experience with wearable or open-ear speaker systems, Expertise in render system models or simulation-based design, including COMSOL acoustic simulations, Understanding of ADB and Android audio stack nuances, Insight into speaker protection algorithms and distortion control methods, such as multi-band DRC, Familiarity with telecommunication audio standards and VoIP quality metrics, Experience with laser displacement measurements and Klippel speaker measurement tools, ideal for advancing consumer electronics NPI cycles
