As part of Eater’s mission to build the world’s best restaurant recommendation platform, our Dining team shapes restaurant coverage that helps readers decide where to eat — and why it matters. In this role, you’ll create engaging, trustworthy stories that reflect Eater’s voice and values. You'll leverage your voice as a guide and tastemaker, and demonstrate local authority while ensuring our work reaches audiences where they are and makes an impact. An eager diner with strong tastemaking sensibilities who’s comfortable translating that experience into engaging, clear, and informative service journalism for maps, dining reports, newsletters, and more. Experienced with editing and fact-checking news and service coverage. You know not only how to write a good blurb, but also how to work with writers to make their service sing. Strong news judgement with an eye towards breaking stories that are engaging and relevant to local audiences. Experience working with and managing freelance contributors as well as proficiency in Adobe Premiere is a plus. You’re located within the Austin, Texas, or Chicago markets and familiar with the food and beverage landscape in your city.
