What They're Looking For.
Must Have
7+ years of experience in embedded software development, fundamentals in embedded systems programming (C/C ++), Basic understanding of control systems, feedback loops, or motor/control-related concepts, Familiarity with microcontrollers or DSP-based systems and real-time constraints, Hands-on experience with debugging, testing, and lab validation, Exposure to software version control systems (Git/GitLab), Ability to work collaboratively in a global and multicultural team, Curiosity, learning mindset, and motivation to grow into a technical expert role
Nice to Have
Familiarity with motor control concepts (PMSM / Induction Motors, FOC, basic control theory), Experience with MATLAB/Simulink for modeling or analysis, Exposure to real-time operating systems (RTOS), Basic understanding of power electronics or inverter systems, Experience with lab instruments such as oscilloscopes or logic analyzers

**Associate Software Expert – Electromechanical Embedded Software** To join our team at **KTEC, Chennai, India** , within the **Electromechanical Embedded Software Team** , part of the **KONE Machinery and Drive Organization** in KONE R&D. In this role, you will work closely with senior software and motor control experts to design, implement, and validate high‑quality embedded software solutions that form the core of KONE’s next‑generation elevator drive systems. **What is our challenge for you?** As an Associate Software Expert, you will contribute hands‑on to **embedded software and control‑related development** , bridging theoretical concepts with robust, production‑grade implementations. You will be coached by senior experts, while gradually taking ownership of software components, features, or subsystems.
