Building on its history of innovation, Carpenter Technology’s wrought and powder technology capabilities support a range of next-generation products and manufacturing techniques, including novel magnetic materials and additive manufacturing. **Associate Metallurgist – Technology** **Primary Responsibilities for the Associate Metallurgist – Technology** * Entry level position to learn basic company processes, alloys, and customers. * Develop skills which will enable provision of a range of technical services to our internal and external customers supporting the attainment of Company and division goals. * Demonstrates the understanding of how to properly make disposition of non-conforming and off-standard material. * Supports team efforts with supervision. * Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned. **Required for the** **Associate Metallurgist – Technology** * Bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field required. * 0-2 years of relevant experience required. * Business/Functional Expertise: Applies knowledge; has basic knowledge of theories, practices and procedures in a function. * Project Management: Accountable for technical contribution to a project team or sub-team. Works with others to achieve team goals within scope of basic knowledge and skills within own function. Has no formal role in managing projects. * Financial Management: May be aware of costs related to own work. * Fundamental knowledge of metallurgical principles, standards, methods and practices.
