Ensure timely DHS Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) updates on mandatory immigration actions to keep the integrity of the student and scholar immigration records.; Ensure that students, scholars, and faculty are provided with clear and comprehensive information, training, advice, and assistance on current federal regulations in order to adhere to their legal responsibilities as mandated by the Federal laws.; Ensuring DHS SEVIS compliance.; Ensuring integrity and compliance for the university’s F-1 and J-1 program administration.; Ensures that both the AU departments and the enrolled students follow the established policies and procedures for AU to stay in compliance with Federal regulations.

What You'll Do.
Ensure ISSS policy and protocols are implemented consistently and in accordance with U. S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Department of State (DoS) regulations.
Monitor regulatory priorities and communicate their impact on students and scholars.
Ensure timely DHS Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) updates on mandatory immigration actions.
Oversee the office’s frontline services to ensure students
and faculty are provided with clear and comprehensive information
and assistance on current federal regulations.
Monitor and maintain immigration compliance with student and scholar records in SEVIS.
Collaborate with colleges
and the SEVIS help desk to identify
and report irregularities in policies and procedures.
Recommend updates to ensure university and its F1 and J1 non-immigrant populations comply.
Explore creative solutions for potential student and scholar issues.
Ensure accurate records in Sunapsis and SEVIS systems.
Attend Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) meetings
Utilize various tools to generate data and regularly audit student data in internal and external systems.
Oversee SEVIS reporting requirements for F-1 and J-1 students and scholars mandated by the DHS and DoS.
Authorize students for internships and other forms of practical training and employment in accordance with J-1 Exchange Visitor program regulations.
Ensure AU departments and enrolled students follow established policies and procedures.
Compile and maintain ISSS immigration and office policy manuals.
Design and deliver immigration and practical training sessions and workshops for students
Train ISSS staff on F-1 and J-1-related regulatory updates
Collaborate with AU Central
and other constituents for enrollment issues and academic decisions.
Conduct research to create and update educational materials
and web pages regarding immigration laws.
Communicate important updates to the university's international constituencies.
Provide supervision for 2 to 3 FT staff and four to five graduate interns and student staff.

Compile periodic reports on service use and emerging needs.
Maintain accurate handouts and web resources for students and staff.
