What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Structural, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, 2+ years of relevant discipline work, 5+ years of construction or project management experience, 2+ years of experience using Auto CAD, 2+ years of experience using scheduling software (Primavera, MS Project or similar), 2+ years project coordination experience from design phase through implementation and operation
Nice to Have
Experience in facilities management, Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications, Experience delivering results for large, cross-functional initiatives/projects, Experience communicating results to senior leadership
What You'll Do.
Supervise implementation and management of Amazon’s safety programs
Support construction team with contract labor skills and
Track and forecast budget
Track and forecast schedule
Identify and solve factors impeding project hand-over
Coordinate with authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ) for regulatory
Maintain internal and external stakeholders up to date
Ensure safe on-time and in-budget execution of Amazon
Coordinate with contractors on projected changes and project
Ensure contractors are meeting contractual obligations
Seek sustainable environmentally friendly solutions
Implement Amazon’s building environmentally friendly practices
Utilize Amazon information systems to record and update

As the GES Associate Construction Manager, you are a customer obsessed leader in the Amazon construction process. In this role, you will play an integral supporting role in the implementation of the facility network infrastructure, including new builds, retrofits and expansion. You will partner with internal customers and external stakeholders to earn their trust and engage as a team to deliver results. You will be charged to ensure information is being communicated to internal and external stakeholders in an effective and timely manner. Some key competencies of this position include; insisting on the highest standards, supporting the team to ensure that contracted resources deliver work meeting duration and quality targets, thinking big (seeking better ways to serve your customers), influencing internal stakeholders while holding them accountable for their actions, supporting construction managers to ensure all job internal and external team members are on point and maintaining schedules and budgets, helping to invent and simplify innovative solutions that allow for improved processes and results, and supporting more than one project in various locations. This opportunity combines construction engineering, planning, project management, facilities management, and contract management. The GES Associate Construction Manager position includes approximately 60% travel.
