Master's degree or equivalent advanced professional experience is required., Experience building and supporting data pipelines, integrations, or data products in an enterprise environment., Knowledge of Databricks (e. g. , notebooks, jobs/workflows, Delta Lake concepts) and how it is used to build and operate data pipelines., Deep understanding of relational databases and data modeling, including SQL skills and familiarity with OData concepts/patterns., Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex data/platform issues and drive root‑cause resolution with Technology partners., analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving ability to operate autonomously and manage multiple priorities.
Nice to Have
Experience with Legal systems, contract repositories, or contract lifecycle management (CLM) platforms., Familiarity with data governance, operational control frameworks, and audit/regulatory expectations., Experience with data quality tooling, monitoring/alerting patterns, and batch/near‑real‑time processing concepts., Experience translating business requirements into technical designs and partnering effectively across Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Technology., Data visualization skills and/or UI/UX design experience to improve usability of data products, dashboards, or end‑user experiences.

# **Position Summary** State Street’s Legal Department is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Legal Data Engineering to join Legal Operations. This role is responsible for the engineering and operational reliability of Legal data products and platforms, including data pipelines, integrations, data models, and technical issue management. The AVP partners closely with Technology and Legal stakeholders and works alongside the Legal Data Controller to ensure Legal data is accurate and that corrective actions and safeguards are implemented to maintain data quality.
