Full Job Description
The Enviva team is driven by our shared vision for a renewable energy future. We are the world’s largest producer of sustainable wood pellets, which provide a low-carbon alternative to fossil fuels. The Assistant Shift Supervisor provides support to the shift supervisor, ensures the team meets shift production goals, back up team leader. Responsibilities Work with all team members in each area in day-to-day operations. Fill in areas when personnel are absent if staffing is not available. Train new hires when needed. Back up team leader on all fronts of Pellet Mill/ Hammermill operation. Follow up on daily shift testing to make sure within spec and if not communicate to the team leader. Should own the 5s procedure with all that applies. Must be able to multitask by balancing multiple items throughout the process. Perform/coordinate housekeeping daily/weekly for shift swaps to maintain to required standard, also walk with Safety manager during housekeeping audit monthly. Escalate issues promptly for proper resolution Qualifications Must demonstrate a mechanical aptitude Ability to develop and maintain accurate records Ability to understand and follow written and verbal job descriptions Proficient in mathematics and measurements Preferred Qualifications - What Sets You Apart Experience in a pellet manufacturing environment preferred Ability to develop and maintain accurate records Ability to understand and follow written and verbal job descriptions High School degree or equivalent Working conditions Must be available to work any shift/any day required; overtime is frequent Must be able to work in environments that reach temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees.
