Job Overview The Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of the district's human resources functions to ensure alignment with organizational goals and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. This position supports the Chief Human Resources Officer in overseeing all areas of Human Resources. As a key advisor to the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Assistant Superintendent promotes a culture of excellence, equity, accountability, and continuous improvement across all human resources programs and related services. Position Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities Overall Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the development and execution of human resources initiatives aligned with district goals. Champion a high-performance, customer service-oriented culture rooted in compliance, equity, and operational excellence. Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on workforce matters, to include policy interpretation, development, and enforcement. Operations & HRIS Analytics Direct the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of all HR operational functions to ensure efficient, compliant, and customer-focused service delivery. Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance in new hire processing, employee records, and HRIS transactions. Guide processes related to employee separations, including final pay, documentation, and exit interviews. Oversee the monitoring and analysis of resignation and termination trends to inform retention strategies and workforce planning. Ensure operational alignment across HRIS, position control, records management, and data governance systems. Use data analytics and metrics to monitor performance, identify risks, and inform strategic decisions. Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within all HR service areas.
