The business area of Industrial Service focuses and offers service solutions and maintenance for all crane brands, for port equipment and machine tools; this includes the repair, maintenance and service of our customers’ lifting equipment, service inspection contracts, refurbishment and modernisation projects, installation, testing and certification of overhead cranes and hoists. We are the original service provider for both Konecranes and Demag equipment. Right now, we are recruiting an Assistant Service Technician to join our team based in Richards Bay, on a full time, permanent basis. Working in our Industrial Service business division, this role will be responsible to execute and support the inspections, repairs, modernizations and installation on cranes and related components and equipment; except for those requiring compliance inspection by an accredited person. As our Assistant Service Technician, key roles and responsibilities will include: * Assist with the performance of inspections, maintenance and repairs on cranes and hoists at varied customer locations, as directed. * Assists perform a general post repair audit prior to completion of work, documenting that all required safety features are functional or documenting deficiencies and attaching a deficiency tag to the crane. * Document findings and make corrective recommendations to the customer including a written “Safety Notification” of any observed or known safety concerns, if appropriate. Determine customer’s intentions to purchase repairs and advise local service office of actions necessary
