**Assistant Management Accountant** _Internal Job Level Reference: Senior Associate)_ UK • Hybrid • Shoreham or Exeter (3 days per week) - Competitive salary + benefits **Focus Group is looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join our Financial Reporting team, supporting the delivery of accurate, timely management accounts across a regional portfolio of companies. You’ll work closely with the Management Accountant and wider finance team, gaining broad exposure to group reporting while contributing to process improvements and system efficiencies.** ### What you’ll do * Support the end-to-end preparation of monthly management accounts for a defined group of companies. * Assist with balance sheet reconciliations, taking ownership of reconciliation items and resolving discrepancies. * Analyse financial performance, including margins, overheads, and variances to budget and forecast, providing clear insight and commentary. * Work with the Finance Manager, Head of Financial Reporting, and wider team to deliver accurate and timely reporting. * Contribute to ongoing improvements in reporting processes within Microsoft Dynamics 365. * Support initiatives to enhance efficiency through automation and AI tools. * Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to ensure financial data is robust and reliable. ### What you’ll bring * Basic understanding of management accounting principles and financial reporting. * Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and work through complex data. * Confident Excel skills, with the ability to manipulate and analyse datasets. * A proactive, self-starting approach with strong prioritisation and organisational skills. * Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight reporting deadlines. * Strong team player who collaborates well with colleagues across finance and the wider business. ### Nice to have * Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365). * Currently studying towards, or holding, an accounting qual
