Must Have
High school diploma or equivalent, 3-5 years experience in transportation, 2-3 years supervisory experience, Computer literacy skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time effectively, Work extended hours regularly, including weekends, Possess working vehicle to travel within service area as needed

Familiar with basic vehicle mechanic processes and maintenance
What You'll Do.
Assist the Location Manager in supervising daily operations
Monitor performance and identify safety issues

Support customer contract compliance and management
Respond to customer inquiries and resolve concerns
Manage location budget and assist with development
Prepare and participate in staff development plans
Ensure compliance with policies and procedures
Manage injury and collision claims
Ensure compliance to all security policies

Set accurate scheduled hours for routes
Minimize route drive times and mileage
Manage resource needs
Administer and execute collective bargaining agreements

The Assistant Location Manager (ALM) is responsible for assisting the Location Manager in supervising daily operations, monitoring performance, identifying safety issues, and resolving conflicts. **At First Student, we are proud to offer:** * Schedule: Monday through Friday, day shift between 6am-6pm * Salary: Up to $90,000/yr, based on experience plus a 10% year-end bonus based on location success * Tremendous Career Advancement Opportunities due to a strong presence across North America * Positive and rewarding work environment **Assistant Transportation Manager Responsibilities:** * Ensures the safe and timely transportation of passengers to and from their destinations. * Support the Location in managing the day-to-day activities to support operations, safety, maintenance, dispatch, fleet and facility management, payroll, routing/scheduling, AR/AP and other interrelated functions. Foster and maintain positive relationships within and outside of the Location. Provide prioritization of work assignments and management of functional team resources and their activities as needed or required. * Supports and/or oversees all aspects of customer contract compliance and management with a concentrated focus on retaining the customer. Includes adherence to all staff, driver, and vehicles requirements, as well as KPI, billing and budget management. Also, covers delivery of all contract-specific technologies and other requirements. Ensures delivery of training and other needs as per company, location, state and customer requirements. * Builds positive relationships with customer, employees, local school officials, parents and the community.
