Full Job Description

## Description About Glide GLIDE is a nationally recognized center for social justice, dedicated to fighting systemic injustices, creating pathways out of poverty and crisis, and transforming lives. Through its integrated comprehensive services, advocacy initiatives, and inclusive community, GLIDE empowers individuals, families, and children to achieve stability and to thrive. GLIDE is on the forefront of addressing some of society’s most pressing issues, including poverty, housing and homelessness, and racial and social justice. GLIDE’s mission is to create a radically inclusive, just, and loving community mobilized to alleviate suffering and break the cycles of poverty and marginalization. ## Essential Duties and Responsibilities Oversees the work of two - three building maintenance technicians and janitors, which cover services across all GLIDE properties.  You will organize, monitor and supervise facility maintenance operations and staff. Ensure all GLIDE’s building systems including heating and ventilation, electrical, plumbing, off-site storage, janitorial services, waste disposal and recycling, etc., are operational and in compliance with all regulatory standards.  Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review, and participate “hands-on” in the work of staff responsible for facilities cleanliness and maintenance.  Coordinate with contractors in providing contract services. Assist in the preparation of various contracts, requests for proposals and reports.  Identify issues, options, and recommendations to maintain Glide’s facilities in the most cost-effective manner.  Research and recommend solutions; research and recommend vendors; obtain 3 competitive bids as a routine habit when soliciting vendors for work at Glide.   Coordinate all work with strategic plan priorities, departmental priorities, and affected staff; ensure timely communication of any disruption to GLIDE’ services, as well as proactive problem-solving.   Ensure work by staff/contractors has been
