Perform enhanced Quality Checks on manuscripts
Manage Journal pipeline by processing manuscripts
Invite EBMs to handle the manuscript
Assign manuscripts to an appropriate handling editor
Support Editors throughout the process
Collaborate and build rapport with Journal editorial staff
Handle email correspondence between the various parties
Assess the decision recommendation of Handling Editors
Send final decision to authors
Monitor progress throughout the review process
Provide help/support to reach final decision
Mentor and support new team members
Provide inputs on improving the process

The Peer Review Management team’s primary function is to provide best-in-class editorial support to authors, editors (internal and external) and peer reviewers from the point of submission through to acceptance. Assistant Editors play an important role in the manuscript ‘submission to accepts’ process, overseeing tasks such as conducting suitability checks, finding, and assigning EBMs, and managing communication with editors, reviewers, and authors. They play a key role in facilitating decision-making, resolving author queries, and ensuring manuscripts progress smoothly through the publishing pipeline. Furthermore, they monitor the overall health of the journal by reviewing its performance, identifying challenges, and proposing solutions. In essence, they act as catalysts in the peer review process, ensuring high-quality manuscripts are delivered to EBMs and peer review is conducted efficiently and within set
