What They're Looking For.

Must Have

Progressive leadership experience in luxury resort recreation, Supervision of front-line teams, Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language, Current CPR, First-Aid and AED certification

Nice to Have

Food & beverage service experience strongly preferred, Working knowledge of lifeguard and aquatic-safety, Lifeguard certification an asset, Hawaii Food Handler’s Card, Maui Liquor Card, ServSafe (within 3 months), Tuberculosis Clearance

Direct daily operation of Pool & Beach environment

Lead and develop the Recreation leadership team

evaluate and discipline staff

Elevate guest experience through anticipatory

Proactively positioning guests

Manage cabana and daybed reservations

Drive cabana and amenity upsells

Recognize VIPs and return guests

Customize experiences to exceed expectations

Own safety standards and compliance across aquatic and

Enforce pool and spa regulations

Enforce beach and ocean-safety protocols

Conduct daily equipment and water-quality checks

Ensure signage and depth markings are adequate

Ensure emergency-response readiness

Respond swiftly and effectively in any emergency

Respond swiftly and effectively in any water-rescue situation

Respond swiftly and effectively in any guest-safety situation

Ensure team is trained and certified

Build and manage staff schedules

Complete payroll records in accordance with budgeted guidelines

Flex labor to occupancy

Schedule and conduct departmental meetings

Ensure Learning Coaches fully integrate new employees

Prepare new employees to pass probationary period

Hold financial accountability for the department

Drive revenue initiatives (cabana rentals

Issue recommendations on annual operating budgets
