## Compensation Range $113,588.80 - $159,036.80 \-- ## Job Description Summary Under the overall direction and supervision of the County Attorney, an Assistant County Attorney III will assist in the fulfillment of the statutory obligations of the County Attorney's Office. Primary areas of focus will be providing legal services through advice and representation to the Board of Weld County Commissioners and Weld County departments or affiliated agencies including, but not limited to, Accounting, Assessor, Buildings and Grounds, Extension, Finance and Administration, Clerk and Recorder, Coroner, Human Resources, Health, Human Services, Justice Services, Planning, Public Works, Purchasing, Records, Sheriff, and Treasurer. The Assistant Attorney may appear in local State and Federal courts, as well as administrative hearings as appropriate and perform all aspects of legal work associated with providing competent representation to the County and its departments. \-- ## Job Description **Legal Representation - 65%** * Provide legal representation in court for and on behalf of Weld County in civil and regulatory matters as assigned. Specifically, appearing on behalf of the County in mental health cases, land use zoning violations, and dog-at-large citations. * Appear in administrative level hearings representing departments in a variety of cases, including but not limited to assistant payment collection, unemployment claims, and property tax appeals. * Perform research and analysis of legal sources such as statutes, published judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and administrative codes and rules. * Negotiate with persons and agencies in the private sector on legal issues pertaining to Weld County government. **Legal Advice - 30%** * Attend meetings of the Weld County Board of Commissioners and provide legal advice and counsel regarding the matters considered and the conduct of the meeting as assigned. * Provide legal advice to the Board of Weld Coun
