Full Job Description
**What you will do** Johnson Controls is hiring an Assembly Technician! In this role, you will produce magnetic bearing assemblies and subassemblies, high speed electric motors and drive panels as well as other duties as assigned. This position is onsite based in Salem, VA. Candidates must be commuting distance to the facility. **How you will do it** * Maintain a safe working environment and a commitment to safety excellence. * Ability to work well with others in a team environment. * Utilize hand tools, epoxies, and adhesives to produce electro-mechanical subassemblies and assemblies according to verbal direction, work instructions and schematics. * Use machines and resources to perform various tasks such as heating, pressing and balancing parts and assemblies. * Ability to strip, crimp, solder and terminate wires per Synchrony and industry standards. * Perform electrical testing on components, subassemblies and assemblies. **What you will need Required ** * High school diploma * 1+ year assembly experience in a light industrial setting is preferred * Read, understand and follow assembly instructions, blueprints and wiring diagrams * Use hand tools such as screwdriver, pliers, etc * Operate small lifts, pallet jacks and other lifting equipment * Basic computer skills, including email, Excel, and Word * Must be able to work with various epoxies without allergic reaction * Work on feet for extended periods of time * Must not have issues related to handling metals including aluminum, copper, bronze, and steel * **HIRING HOURLY RANGE** : $17.30 - $25.90 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
