Full Job Description
****Job Description:**** Position for engineers specialized in Modelling of Weapon Aiming & Control Calculation and Sensor Data Integration and Management has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space. The person will be working in Getafe with Spanish contract. **_Project Overview, Tasks & Accountabilities_** This role will be focus on system architecture, functional modelling, and physics-based performance definition of airborne weapon systems and targeting algorithms. This person will be part of a team that will design and define the behaviour of the weapon and targeting system prior to software implementation. The output of this work will serve as the requirements and foundation for the software simulation team to implement within a simulator environment. The main tasks will be: * Model the behaviour and architecture of airborne weapon systems from an engineering perspective. * Design and development of mathematical and physical models for subsystems (sensors, weapon,..) * Develop and validate aiming algorithms (Ballistic, guided, predictive, stabilized aiming) * Specification of system functions, expected behaviours, performance constraints and interfaces. * Analyse targeting accuracy, reaction time, error propagation and engagement logic * Produce documentation as input for the downstream software team. * Collaborate with simulation software engineers to ensure consistency and harmonization with respect to the customer expectations. **_Required skills_** * Knowledge about Aircraft combat basics and symbology * Experience in physical and functional modelling of airborne or embedded systems. (Background in dynamics, kinematics and ballistics modelling is desirable). * Knowledge about system architecture, platform dynamics, mission symbology. * Ability to define documentation as (System Requirement, System Functional Requirement, System Specification, Interface Control Document, Testing Procedures,..) * Experience developing targeting, aiming and compensation algorithm
