Nice to Have
Prior work or volunteer experience in a library, museum, gallery, or archives, Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud, Knowledge of photography and digitization workflows, Familiarity with archival processing standards and practices, Experience with collections databases or data entry systems
What You'll Do.
Support the stewardship
and accessibility of archival and research library collections.
Process the Center’s map collections through arrangement and description.
and related collections management activities.
Perform archival processing duties.
Catalog maps in the ArchivesSpace collections management database.
Create metadata for each map.
Assign accession numbers to maps.
Rehouse and label archival items.
Create template for finding aids.
Digitize items as necessary.
Perform preventative conservation duties.
Assess the condition of rolled maps.
Surface clean maps prior to humidification.
Prepare a humidification chamber.
Flatten and dry maps under weight.
Store flattened maps properly.
