What They're Looking For.
Must Have
10 years of L2/L3 Application Support Experience, ITIL v3 or above foundation certified, Experience in writing queries in SQL language (for running on Oracle, MS SQL), Experience managing a Unix/Linux based environment and hosted Applications, Hands on experience on AWS and API based applications, experience in Monitoring Tools like ITRS/AppDynamics/Splunk/Dynatrace, Basic understanding of tools like Jenkins, Chef, GitLab and other deployment tools, analytical skills to address complex challenges & effective troubleshoot ability of production issues, Ability to work at pace, under pressure while maintaining the quality, Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Nice to Have
Experience in WEB technologies, Support for multi-tier applications, MVC architecture, Web Services, Large-scale blue-chip organisations such as Barclays, Broad knowledge of Barclays Group, Banking Domain Experience, Previous second line support experience, Ability to work under own initiative

Manage the IT Services department
Set the strategic direction for IT Services
Provide support to the bank's senior management team
Manage IT Service risk across the organisation
Manage IT Services colleagues and their performance
Implement departmental goals and objectives
Oversee department efficiency and effectiveness
Manage IT Services stakeholders
Maintain the quality of external third party services
Develop and implement policies and procedures for IT Services
Implement and adhere to control targets and standards
Manage adherence to group SLAs and controls
Identify potential IT Services risks
Develop strategies to mitigate IT Services risks
Monitor the financial performance of the IT Services department
Drive value from commercial agreements
Manage directly controlled costs
Manage IT Services projects
Monitor and maintain the bank’s critical technology infrastructure
Resolve complex technical issues
Advise and influence decision making
Contribute to policy development
Take responsibility for operational effectiveness
Set objectives and coach employees
Appraise performance relative to objectives
Determine reward outcomes
Consult on complex issues
Support the resolution of escalated issues
