Full Job Description

Amazon LEO is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Amazon Leo will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity. As a System Development Engineer, you will be responsible for integration, simulation, and test of state-of-the-art space borne phased array systems. You will work internally and cross-functionally with a multi-disciplinary team to improve test speed and data collection, perform root cause analysis, and correlate test data with end-to-end system level simulations. Key job responsibilities • Measure, validate, and perform root cause analysis on phased array systems and sub-systems • Interface with standard RF equipment to enable automation and efficient data collection • Create and/or modify new software features to enable testing of standard phased array system metrics such as EIRP, EVM, and G/T • Act as a liaison with the Leo software team to drive new product requirements based on RF system test needs • Perform end-to-end modeling, simulation, and analysis of digital phased array systems Export Control Requirement Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Basic Qualifications: - 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 3+ years of deploying and operating in a Linux/Unix environment experience - Experience with RF lab equipment including VNA, power meters, spectrum analyzers, vector signal generators - Experience with Hardware/Software system bring up and debugging - BS
