What You'll Do.
Assists in proper care and maintenance of animals
Feeds animals according to standards and schedules
Ensures animals have adequate potable water
Inspects animal housing conditions
Cleans and changes cages
Provides appropriate enrichment for different animal species
Verifies macroenvironment for anything abnormal
Verifies equipment is functioning normally
Completes standard reports and logs
Monitors general health of animals
Informs Animal Health Technician of changes
Reports urgent matters concerning abnormalities
Applies various treatments to animals
Verifies received animals' paperwork matches order
and health of animals
Prepares and verifies animals for shipment
Sanitizes all animal-related areas
Reports malfunctioning equipment or facility issues
Performs minor work on cages
Takes inventory of animals
Assists in inventory and restocking of supplies
Disposes of carcasses and waste
and sterilizes equipment
Performs scheduled maintenance of processing equipment
Liaises with research staff regarding equipment access
Answers vet care questions or redirects
Demonstrates how to properly use equipment
Assists in demonstrating duties to new employees
Ensures all tasks are accomplished daily and weekly
Attends required meetings and training sessions
Identifies and suggests improvements to supervisor
How You'll Work.
Team & Collaboration
In collaboration with all team members, ensures tasks are accomplished; Liaise with research staff regarding access to equipment; Redirects vet care questions to AHTs
