What They're Looking For.
Must Have
0 to 3 years of previous experience in investment banking, Meaningful financial modeling and analysis experience, Basic computer applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Nice to Have
Senior Analysts will be considered, Working knowledge of the industrial sector, Working knowledge of the capital markets, Experience with M&A, Experience with equity and debt financings, Experience with capital structure and strategic advisory projects
What You'll Do.
Executing all facets of the group’s mandates
Conducting industry research and analysis
Identifying and/or analyzing investment banking business opportunities
Preparing client proposals and pitchbooks
Executing new and existing client mandates
Developing and auditing sophisticated financial models
Preparing industry and financial analysis
Assisting with company due diligence investigations
Supporting senior investment banking colleagues
Generating transaction ideas/opportunities
How You'll Work.
Team & Collaboration
Participating in cross-functional teams; Liaising with other units of CIBC Capital Markets; Coordinating client-focused and/or deal-focused “brainstorming” sessions; Developing relationships and actively communicating with various appropriate contacts at our clients; Developing and maintaining an internal network with product groups and other business groups; Developing and maintaining an external network with the market; Working with individuals from various groups across the firm, globally; Team approach to executing coverage, M&A advisory and financing assignments
Communication Scope
Well-developed written communication skills; Well-developed verbal communication skills; Detailed explanation and interpretation of factual and conceptual information and ideas related to complex technical and conceptual issues
