What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Previous full time or internship experience in investment banking, corporate finance, private equity, equity research or corporate development, written and verbal communication skills, undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, mathematics, engineering, computer science or economics, Excellent analytical ability including demonstrated knowledge of valuation techniques and practices, including cash flow and returns analyses, Knowledge of accounting principles relating to financial statement preparation and business combinations, quantitative technical skills as it relates to basic computer applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and industry applications including FactSet and Bloomberg), Well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills, Well-developed written and verbal communication skills sufficient to provide detailed explanation and interpretation of factual and conceptual information and ideas related to complex technical and conceptual issues, Unquestioned professionalism, ethics and reputation and proven ability to exercise independent judgment when making business decisions and/or representing CIBC Capital Markets

What You'll Do.
Execute M&A advisory and financing mandates
Support client relationships
Support the Global Mining team’s origination efforts
Contribute to the overall communication flow across our global offices
Provide a broad range of analytical
research and presentation preparation support
Maintain an awareness of the strategic priorities of our clients and key developments and trends in the industry
Create and direct complex financial analysis and models
Conduct industry research and analysis to assist in the identification and/or analysis of investment banking business opportunities
Prepare client proposals
pitchbooks and the execution of new and existing client mandates
Oversee the work of Analysts
Prepare industry and financial analysis to assist with the development of client recommendations
Develop and audit sophisticated financial models
Lead the completion of analysis including comparable company analysis and precedent transaction analysis
Assist in company due diligence investigations
Support senior investment banking colleagues
Direct and train Analyst teammates
Grow internal and external networks
Coordinate client-focused and/or deal-focused brainstorming sessions with relevant team members and product specialists
Develop relationships and actively communicate with various appropriate contacts at our clients
Develop and maintain an internal network with product groups and other business groups
Develop and maintain an external network with the market (i. e. key stakeholders
Liaise with other units of CIBC Capital Markets in preparing proposals for clients
Support CIBC’s “Culture of Care” through involvement in community activities
Actively manage and mentor the Analysts that work with you
