Full Job Description
As an Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) Engineer, you are the primary escalation point for Data Center Technicians within your assigned region. You are an expert at troubleshooting hardware-based problems including but not limited to: server level hardware, fiber and copper cable paths, networking equipment, and related problems. You have an interest in the services used to maintain and manage hardware within the datacenter. You use this knowledge and excellent communication skills to work with multiple internal teams to troubleshoot and solve complex problems for our customers. You enjoy leading several projects at once and love to learn and be curious. This position will support multiple separate sites. ADC Engineering combines operational support and systems engineering to build and run large-scale, massively distributed, fault-tolerant services and systems dedicated to U.S. Government customers. ADC Engineers ensures that AWS services - both our internally and externally-visible services - continually raise the bar on security, availability, and scalability. Additionally, ADC Engineers keep an ever-watchful eye on our systems' capacity and performance. Much of our focus is to optimizing existing systems, building infrastructure and eliminating work through automation. You will have the opportunity to manage the complex operational challenges of scale, which are unique to AWS, while using your expertise to work with other teams and engineers to drive large-scale system decisions. ADC Engineering’s culture of diversity, intellectual curiosity, problem solving, and openness is critical to its success. Our organization brings together people with a wide variety of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We encourage them to collaborate, think big and take risks in a fault-free environment. We promote self-direction to work on meaningful projects, while also striving to create an environment that provides the support and mentorship needed to learn and grow. This posit
