Airport Engineer (Experienced) **Company:** The Boeing Company **Boeing Commercial Airplanes** (BCA) is looking for an **Airport Engineer (Experienced)** to join Boeing Company’s Airport Technology Engineering team in **Seal Beach, California**. **Primary Responsibilities:** * Provide expertise in aircraft/airport compatibility issues to include airport operations & planning. * Utilize ICAO and FAA airfield pavement standards to analyze pavement data to determine pavement strength by calculating ICAO PCN and PCR values. * Applies knowledge of airfield pavement design and evaluation using FAA pavement design software to perform pavement structural analysis. * Bring advanced knowledge of airfield signage, lighting, NAVAIDs, ICAO and FAA aerodrome design standards, proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation, ArcGIS, AVIPLAN and Excel, strong technical writing and public speaking skills, and experience mentoring junior engineers. * Compare airplane configurations with airport operations and infrastructure to identify incompatible features, conduct on-site pavement roughness and strength tests (including FAARFIELD and back‑calculation methods), and document airport infrastructure while providing actionable recommendations for modifications and upgrades. * Conduct trade studies of airplane design characteristics and advising on aircraft pavement loading and Part 139 certification issues. * Experience conducting on-site airfield roughness testing and non-destructive pavement strength testing, including deflection testing. * Recommend changes to facilities and/or procedures to support removal of operational restrictions. * Mentor and train early career engineers. * Oversees quality control, maintaining quality standards in all work produced by checking computations and drawings performed by others. * Analyzes technical problems and provides new approaches and alternative solutions. **Work Authorization:** This position is expected to be 100% onsite.
